Westport Announces Warming Centers In This Week's Frigid Cold

WESTPORT, Conn. — Human Services Director Elaine Daignault announced today that the Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave., will be open to the public today, Friday and Saturday as an officially designated “warming center.”

Hours for the center are 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

“Folks are welcome to come in for a cup of coffee, charge their phones and stay warm and comfortable,” said Director Sue Pfister.

The public is also invited to warm up at the Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road. 

Library hours are: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Those concerned about a resident who may be in need may contact the Department of Human Services at (203) 341-1050. Those seeking additional shelter information are asked to call 2-1-1.
